Pre-Doctoral Research Position – University of Bologna (Political Economy)
Alessandro Saia (University of Bologna) is seeking full-time pre-doctoral research assistants starting in September 2026 (flexible start date) for a duration of 1–2 years. Under certain conditions, the position may be upgraded to a postdoctoral role. Research focus: Political Economy, at the intersection of Applied Economics and Natural Language Processing (NLP). The project involves large-scale data collection on German and Austrian municipalities (including web scraping, YouTube data, email outreach, and related tasks).
Requirements:
- Master’s degree (completed by end of 2026)
- Degree obtained within the past six years (for eligibility under potential postdoc upgrade)
- Strong quantitative background
- Proficiency in Python and STATA (required)
- Interest in applied research
No teaching duties.
Compensation: approximately €1,800 net per month.
Location: Bologna (remote/hybrid arrangements can be discussed).
