Option 1: Bergisel Ski Jump

Blick Bergisel

The Bergisel Ski Jump is undoubtedly one of the most iconic landmarks in Innsbruck. It is well known not only because of the 1964 and 1976 Olympic Games as well as the annual Four Hills Tournament, but also because of its elegant and bold architecture: it was designed by Iraqi-British star architect Zaha Hadid (between 1999 and 2002). From the stadium and from the panoramic rooftop terrace, you get spectacular views of the Nordkette mountains, over the city of Innsbruck and the entire Inn valley.

We will experience the Bergisel Ski Jump through the eyes of a ski jumper, who will take us on a guided tour of the stadium. We will learn more about the site and the sport, will get exclusive access to behind-the-scenes areas and will hear fascinating stories from an insider's perspective. Weather conditions permitting, we will also be able to watch several ski jumps from up close.

Whether you are into winter sports or not, this excursion will offer an unforgettable experience and breathtaking vistas of Tyrol.

The guided tour of the Bergisel Ski Jump will be in English. Accessibility: We will walk around the stadium, including a few steps, but lifts are available to take us all the way up!

Costs: 20€/ticket, including transport

Option 2: Ambras Castle

Schloss Ambras

In the heart of an extensive park, including gloomy grottos, meandering creeks, and majestic peacocks lies Schloss Ambras, one of Innsbruck’s prominent landmarks. At an elevation of 650 meters, the castle offers a splendid view of the alpine scenery to the north as well as the city of Innsbruck below. The castle’s present form can be attributed to Ferdinand II, Archduke of Austria, who added the Spanish Hall and, in a true Renaissance-fashion, established one of the world’s first museums. The Wunderkammer (Chamber of Art and Wonders) offers an assortment of oddities, rarities, and artworks. And the expansive portrait gallery includes paintings by the likes of Lucas Cranach, Peter Paul Rubens and Diego Velásquez.

Guided tours in English will navigate us through the premises and their rich history. As a historical building Schloss Ambras is not entirely barrier-free. However, a comprehensive outline of the accessible areas can be found online.

Costs: 20€/ticket, including transport
