TICKLESS

(acronym for Reduced ticks and tick-borne diseases in sheep by integrated management) is a National funded project from the Research Council of Norway (MATFONDAVTALE) to focus on identification of robust animals, natural tick enemies, integrated vector (tick) management and understanding of interactions between vegetation, climate and host animals on the tick-population and the frequency of tick-borne disease.

TICKLESS is a collaboration between Bioforsk Organic Food and Farming, Bioforsk Plant Health and Plant Protection, Norwegian School of Veterinary Science, Nofima Marin, University of Oslo, Ålesund University College, Macaulay Land Use Research Institute, Scotland, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, University of Innsbruck, Austria and University of São Paulo, Brazil. 

Major objective of the project is to monitor and to reduce tick density, to study incidence of tick-borne diseases in order to secure animal welfare of grazing sheep.
