Theory, Knowledge, Culture
This research area deals with shifting orders and practices of knowledge in the context of socio-technical and socio-digital transformation. Artificial intelligence and cyber-physical systems for automation affect knowledge practices and normative orders in various fields of action, including the formation of scientific and social science knowledge. In the face of authoritarian appropriations of these technologies in contemporary post-liberal, anti-democratic politics, the aim of this research area is to explore the conditions for a resilient, democracy-strengthening foundation of knowledge in a digitalised society.
