Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP)
The Blended Intensive Programme, abbreviated BIP, is a short, intensive cross-border course with joint online and face-to-face elements. It is a new mobility format embedded in the Erasmus programme and implemented as part of the new Erasmus programme generation (2021-2027).
BIPs are developed on transdisciplinary themes, ideally taking into account the priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme (sustainability, inclusion, civic engagement) and the UN SDGs.
Requirements:
A BIP consists of a joint digital phase and a joint attendance phase. The digital phase can take place either before or after the attendance phase. The attendance phase lasts between 5 and 30 days (max. 15 days are funded).
- A BIP is jointly organised by at least 3 higher education institutions from 3 different Erasmus+ Programme Countries (1 coordinating and 2 sending universities).
- At least 15 mobile participants from the sending universities must take part in a BIP (these are sponsored by the home universities).
- A BIP must correspond to at least 3 ECTS-Credits.

A BIP represents an exciting format for complementing courses with international teaching and learning experiences and equipping them with international competence. A BIP offers instructors the opportunity to finance a co-creative course developed together with European partners. All instructors at the University of Innsbruck are eligible to apply. They can apply for a BIP as coordinating or participating institution.
Under certain conditions, it is also possible for members of the general staff (e.g. heads of an organisational unit) to organise or participate in a BIP for training purposes. If you are interested, please contact erasmus@uibk.ac.at.
Are you teaching at UIBK and would like to organise and host a BIP? The coordinating university must apply for the BIPs separately. This is possible once a year in the course of applying for Erasmus KA 131 in February. The coordinating university receives so-called OS funds for the additional organisational expenses in the amount of EUR 400 per participant in the BIP, which is a minimum of EUR 6000 for 15 participants, but a maximum of EUR 8000.
Time horizon for planning:
The UIBK currently has 2 BIPs to award, each with 20 participants. The BIP must be completed by 30 June 2024 at the latest. In the final report, the coordinating university must report in detail on the content, the participants and the goals achieved by the BIP.
The application for funding of the BIP as coordinating university must be submitted at least 6 months before the start (form see below).

Ob eine Förderung für die Teilnahme der Studierenden am BIP genehmigt werden kann, wird von Fall zu Fall entschieden und hängt von der Maßgabe der budgetären Mittel ab.
Studierende, die an einem BIP als mobile Studierenden teilnehmen, erhalten von ihrer entsendenden Hochschule einen Zuschuss. Der Zuschuss beträgt EUR 70 pro Tag. Ein Reisetag jeweils davor und danach kann ebenfalls hinzugefügt und bei der Bezuschussung berücksichtig werden. Zusätzlich erhalten alle Studierende ein einmaliges Top-up von EUR 50, wenn sie auf umweltfreundliche Art und Weise reisen. Studierende mit geringeren Chancen erhalten, je nach Dauer, zusätzlich ein Top-up von EUR 100-150.
Beispiel: Summer School von 5 Tagen, 1 Tag und 1 Tag Abreise, Reise jeweils mit Zug: (5+2)x100+50= EUR 750
Studierende erhalten nach erfolgreicher Teilnahme ein Transcript of Records mit 3 ECTS-AP, die an der entsendenden Hochschule gemäß OLA (online Learning Agreement) angerechnet werden und müssen einen online-Teilnahmebericht ausfüllen.
Lehrende, die im Zuge eines BIPs unterrichten, können über die Erasmus+ Lehrendenmobilität gefördert werden.
Der Antrag zur Finanzierung des BIPs als teilnehmende Hochschule muss spätestens 4 Monate vor Beginn eingereicht werden.
BIPs taking place within the AURORA European University Alliance will be given priority for funding.
