Research area: Active mobility
Since June 2025, Ursula Scholl-Grissemann holds the BMIMI Endowed Professorship for Active Mobility: Movement in Leisure and Everyday Life at the Department of Sport Science, University of Innsbruck. With an academic background in service management and consumer behavior research, her work focuses on developing and implementing communication strategies that promote active mobility as an integral part of everyday and leisure-time physical activity. Methodologically, she specializes in experimental research designs conducted both in the laboratory and in real-world field settings.
Communication & Consumer Behavior – Designing and testing interventions (e.g. nudging, incentives, communication strategies) to reduce cognitive, emotional, and social barriers to active mobility.
Tourism, Leisure & Service Research – Investigating factors that enable or hinder active mobility in tourism and everyday leisure contexts, with a focus on service processes and customer journeys.
Health, Sport & Movement – Exploring active mobility as a lever for health promotion and wellbeing, considering different target groups such as schoolchildren and older adults.
