
Pan European Seal - Young Professionals Programme (PES)
One Graduate Programme - Two Employers - You choose
The Pan-European Seal Traineeship Programme gives high-achieving university graduates the opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job experience in the multicultural environments of the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The programme
- addresses students and alumni interested in the growing market of intellectual property like trademarks, design and patents,
- holding or are about to receive a bachelor´s, master´s or PhD-degree before the programme start in September 2026.
- A yearly average of 100 trainees will be selected, according to each student’s profile and considering the Offices’ needs.
- Candidates have to register via LFU:online and choose between EPO or EUIPO for an application.
- Documents such as CV, motivation letter, etc. have to be submitted, when applying to the relevant institution.

- CV in English in Europass Word format recommended
- Degree/Master or Bachelor diploma or proof of conclusion, indicating the final grade. This can be replaced by a provisional declaration, until final diploma is issued. To obtain a provisional declaration of your degree, please contact the relevant examination centre – see contact and information here: https://www.uibk.ac.at/en/college-service-center/
- EUIPO: Certificate(s) of completion of at least one of the following online mandatory courses after application: “EUTM in a Nutshell” and/or “RCD in a Nutshell” (4h approximately each) - To complete the courses, candidates must create an account of PES user and log in at EUIPO Academy Learning Portal (EALP).
