    A number of Austrian companies and research institutes are developing breakthrough innovations for CI(G)S thin-film solar cells . The SynerCIS project addresses major technological challenges to bring these innovations to global markets and to show their viability under real world conditions. The project tackles a multitude of current issues along the value chain, ranging from the development of semifinished goods enabling substantial cost reductions to the demonstration of the project results in Austrian photovoltaic products.
