Sitting on a cold rock, the freezing beggar asks for a gift for herself and her starving child. Meanwhile the queen's offspring is bathed in milk and dried with bread. In the saga of Frau Hitt and her wicked deeds, the poor and rich collide. But how does one achieve a respected position today? It is often said that you can achieve anything you want if you work hard enough. But is that really true? The Department of Sociology examines social inequality and asks the question: Would the prince and the beggar's child have the same chances today?
