Pension fund
Description
In addition to paying the social security contributions required by law (health insurance, accident insurance and public pension scheme), every month the University of Innsbruck makes payments into a university pension fund for all eligible employees. These contributions are invested and offer employees additional retirement provision, invalidity insurance, and survivors' benefits after their employment has ended.
All employees for whom contributions to the university pension fund are made can themselves add additional payments to the pension fund; in doing so, they can increase the respective later benefits and take advantage of the corresponding tax incentives offered.
For whom?
Employees subject to the collective employment agreement and who have been continuously employed at the University of Innsbruck for more than two years:
- Allianz Pension Fund
- Contributions in the amount of 3% (10% for professors) of the gross salary as defined by the collective employment agreement (different regulations apply for apprentices and minimum income workers)

Extra Christmas bonus
Description
Every Christmas, the University of Innsbruck makes available a total sum of approximately € 30,000. The Personnel Department distributes this sum in the form of shopping vouchers. This so-called "Extra Christmas Bonus" is distributed among those employees whose monthly gross salary does not exceed € 2,100 (the amount is higher for employees with children of below 18 years of age). The maximum amount of the bonus is € 105 and it is adapted to the extent of employment.

Meal bonus
Description
Every Christmas, the University of Innsbruck makes available the additional amount of approximately € 48,000, which is also distributed by the Personnel Department in the form of shopping vouchers. This so-called "meal bonus" is a fixed amount distributed among employees with low salaries (in ascending order). The maximum bonus is € 80 and it is adapted to the extent of employment.
The annual allocation of funds, the definition of who is eligible to receive a share, as well as the distribution of the money are closely coordinated with the Works Council.

Subsidies for external training programs
Description
The University of Innsbruck aims to support its employees' commitment to develop their competences. Next to a wide range of offerings of the department of personnel development also the attendance of courses of other providers that are supported by the organizational unit, are funded with up to € 300,- p.a. by the department of personnel development.

Coaching subsidies
Description
Employees in management positions have access to coaching as a form of fast, goal-oriented, individualized, and efficient support. The coaching process is tailored to the respective manager's needs. The maximum subsidy is € 400/year.
In addition to this "central" subsidy, coaching programs are frequently subsidized by the respective organizational unit.

Subsidy of the Kindergarten Leopold
Description
Starting in September 2022, a contingent of full-day places is reserved for children of employees of the University of Innsbruck in the Kindergarten Leopold operated by the Kinderfreunde Tirol. A big advantage of this kindergarten is that the childcare hours are adapted to working parents (Mon-Fri 7:00-18:00, open all year round). The University co-finances costs in the form of a subsidy.

For whom?
- The kindergarten places are basically intended for children of employees of the University of Innsbruck from the age of three until they start school.
- The monetary subsidy requires an active employment at the University of Innsbruck with at least 20 hours per week or a teaching contract of at least 7 semester hours.

Emergency fund
Description
If employees find themselves in an emergency situation through no fault of their own, the University of Innsbruck will – under certain conditions – support them with a one-time emergency grant of up to € 2.000. This emergency fund does not have to be refunded.

Transportation allowance
Description
The University of Innsbruck pays employees that are entitled to the “Pendlerpauschale“ and “Pendlereuro“ an additional travelling allowance called “Fahrtkostenzuschuss” (transportation allowance). The amount of this travelling allowance is dependent on the “Pendlerpauschale” (commuter allowance) an employee is entitled to conformable to law.
