Ash from biomass combustion (wood ash, bark ash) has a potential for fixation of CO2 and H2S. The capacity of biomass ash for CO2 and H2S-fixation and the suitability of ash for upgrading of biogas are investigated in the present project (laboratory scale, larger scale at one biogas plant). As an output from the innovative upgrading process, carbonated ash which is expected to be unproblematic for utilisation is produced.

The Institute for Infrastructure is involved in the design and construction of the biogas upgrading facility. It furthermore conducst gas monitoring of the plant to determine the efficieny of the system.
