Laboratory for Model Dynamics

In the Laboratory for Model Dynamics, experimental problems in

  • structural dynamics as well as in
  • structural and room acoustics

are studied in close cooperation with the TVFA of the University of Innsbruck. In addition to scientific investigations, the Unit of Applied Mechanics also deals with problems in these fields in engineering practice. The available mobile measurement equipment is suitable for field applications on real buildings.

  • Development and experimental validation of innovative methods for vibration reduction
  • Dynamic system identification and model updating
  • Identification of natural frequencies, damping coefficients and mode shapes
  • Dynamic structural health monitoring
  • Vibration measurements
  • Assessment of dynamically excited structures
  • Sound power determination
  • Room acoustic and vibroacoustic measurements

  • Electrodynamic shakers
  • Vibration control system
  • Impact hammer
  • Piezoelectric accelerometers
  • Seismometers
  • Laser scanner vibrometer
  • Dynamic measurements with strain gauges
  • Omnidirectional loudspeaker
  • Impact sound tapping machine
  • Measurement microphones
  • Sound intensity probe
