Buddy Programme

The Buddy Programme is primarily aimed at students in lower semesters, but can be used by students of all semesters. The aim is to offer targeted support and guidance for all questions, concerns or problems related to studying - from student to student. Since subject-related and teaching-related topics often overlap, both our Buddy Hannah Götsch and the StV Lehramt Romanistik can be contacted with questions.

Buddy Hannah Götsch (for questions about teaching and/or BA studies): hannah.goetsch@uibk.ac.at
Office hours: by arrangement

StV Lehramt Romance Studies (for questions exclusively about the teaching profession): stv-la.fr-ital-span@oeh.cc
Office hours: by appointment

Mentoring programme

The mentoring programme is primarily aimed at students in higher semesters. Mentors are teachers of the Institute of Romance Studies who are available as contact persons and additional support for students in the advanced phase of their studies.

What are the tasks of a mentor?

  • Provide regular support and assistance with student concerns
  • Provide insight into current research
  • Provide information on career opportunities after graduation
  • Provide referrals to other contacts as needed
  • Pass on life and professional experience to students

How do I get a mentor?

To receive a mentor, write an email with your wish to participate in the mentoring programme to Julia.Proell@uibk.ac.at. After registering, you will be assigned a mentor who will become your personal contact person.

The mentors of the Institute of Romance Studies are currently: Carmen Konzett-Firth, Julia Pröll.

Who can use the buddy-mentoring programme at the Institute of Romance Studies?

The buddy/mentoring system at the Department of Romance Studies can be used by students of the Bachelor's degree programmes in Spanish/Italian/French as well as by teacher training students of those subjects.
