Media Education and Digital Literacy
The area of media education and Digital Literacy deals with pedagogical and didactic questions on dealing with digital technologies and media phenomena. Based on the findings of a living environment characterised by digital infrastructures, we take up interdisciplinary perspectives at the interface to Computer Science, General Education, Critical Computer Studies, Media Studies, etc.
The core task is thus to develop research-led didactic concepts and teaching-learning scenarios for the subject of Digital Literacy in the face of social challenges in digitality and to teach them accordingly in the degree programme.
Special emphasis is placed on questions of sustainable digital media use in an ecological, economic and social sense and on issues of inequality in the context of digital infrastructures, particularly with regard to educational opportunities.
