Das RESPONSIVE-Projekt

The RESPONSIVE project aims to enhance the responsiveness of European social services to input from citizens. It aims to increase the impact of citizen voice on the approaches, organisation and delivery of social services. The project wants to help citizens, social services and EU policy structures to better understand and utilise the knowledge, experiences and ideas of citizens. The following core objectives are developed:

  1. Analysis of the normative, legal, policy and practice contexts at local, national and EU level, shaping how social services respond to the perspectives of diverse citizens (March–Aug. 2023)
  2. Assessment of the range, inclusivity, operation and impact of official channels of citizen input in social services (advisory groups, consultations, complaints, evaluation mechanisms) (Sept. 2023–Feb. 2024)
  3. Analysis of the range, goals, content and approaches of public actions by citizens to change social services (protests, campaigns, social media, social enterprise, artistic production) (March–Aug. 2024)
  4. Identification of the factors shaping changes by social services in response to the input of diverse citizens who use social services (Sept. 2024–Feb. 2025)
  5. Co-design and testing of tailored innovations for citizens, civil society groups, social services and policymakers to significantly expand the utilisation of different sources of citizen knowledge by social services at different levels (March–Nov. 2025)
  6. Promote uptake of innovations through dissemination of project results (March 2023–Feb. 2026)
  7. Management and coordination of the project (March 2023–Feb. 2026)

The University of Innsbruck is responsible for the coordination, communication, management, networking and supervision of gender and diversity issues in the project. We have developed and created an operations and management handbook, the ethical principles and a data management plan for the project.
