15.10.2025 - Agilent LDIR put into operation in Innsbruck
In October 2025, the Institute of Analytical Chemistry and Radiochemistry put into operation our new Agilent 8700 LDIR system for microplastics analysis, featuring quantum cascade laser technology. This state-of-the-art device greatly improves our capability for automated measurements and reliable identification and characterization of microplastic particles.
We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of Interreg Bavaria–Austria, co-financed by the European Union.

12.-13.08.2025 - Project meeting in Innsbruck
The Institute of Analytical Chemistry and Radiochemistry welcomed the project partners from the TU Munich, Postnova and LIA to a highly productive meeting for our Interreg project MikAlp. After countless online-meetings, it is always a pleasure to see each other in-person!

26.-28.05.2025 - Wassertagung Münster
In May 2025, Postnova presented a poster at WASSER 2025, the annual meeting of the Water Chemistry Society. The contribution, titled “Characterization of Microplastics in Alpine Waters Using Field-Flow Fractionation and Detection,” showcased results from the MikAlp project.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity to share current work in water analytics and exchange ideas with experts from academia and industry. Direct feedback from the community offered valuable input and fresh impulses for further method development.

01.04.2025 – Drinking water sampling campaign at the Bavarian Environment Agency (LfU) in Wielenbach
We had the opportunity of perfoming an extensive sampling campaign at the Bavarian Environment Agency (LfU) in Wielenbach. To adhere to the newest regulations by the European Union we performed Filter Cascade Filtration, sampling a total of 1000 liters. Additioinally, we spiked a custom-developed internal standard to assess the recovery of our measurements. We are extremely excited to report first results in the near future!

31.03.–01.04.2025 – Project-Meeting at Postnova & Optimization of Concentration Methods
We met at Postnova Headquarters in Landsberg am Lech for an in-person Project Meeting. The Focus was on exchanging the latest project progress and performing laboratory experiments on innovative concentration methods to optimize the analysis of micro- and nanoplastics using Postnovas Field-Flow Fractionation (FFF)

10.-13.03.2025 - Anakon Leipzip
Postnova Analytics’ participation in ANAKON 2025 at Leipzig University was a great success. At our company booth, we showcased our latest advances in field-flow fractionation and detection technologies, and enjoyed valuable exchange with experts in analytical chemistry.
Our poster and technical talk attracted strong interest and sparked engaging discussions. We thank the organizers for an excellent conference and look forward to presenting further results from the MikAlp project at future events.

13.12.2023 – Project Kick-off Meeting in Innsbruck
It was a great pleasure to officially kich-off our Interreg-Project as part of a two-day in-person Meeting at the Institute of Analytical Chemistry and Radiochemistry in Innsbruck. Stay tuned for exciting findings in the future.
