Ruben Maria Anderlan studied Sport Management (BSc) and Strategic Management and Innovation (MSc) at the University of Innsbruck. His master thesis examined tourism crowding-out effects at a major sporting event. Building on this work, his PhD quantitatively examines the challenges and myths surrounding major sporting events. In doing so, it seeks to provide a more evidence-based understanding of their actual impacts and legacies.
