My Master's Thesis in the Chemical Physics group of Martin Beyer deals with photodissociation spectroscopy of magnesium oxide cluster cations. Quantum chemical calculations of MgO+ in the literature indicate that there is a broad photodissociation continuum in the visible regime, which limits the lifetime of the molecular ion in the ISM. I want to quantify the photodissociation cross section as a first step towards including MgO+ in astrochemical models.

I recently submitted my PhD thesis on the spectroscopy of FeH+ and Fe(H2)1,2+, which I did in the Chemical Physics group of Martin Beyer. The infrared spectra of the fundamental and overtone are already published, as is the X-ray absorption spectroscopy performed together with the group of Tobias Lau @BESSY II. Now I am working on the publication of the UV/VIS photodissociation spectra, and I prepare for my PhD defense. I am grateful for the funding of the FWF for my PhD and the opportunites provided by DK-ALM.
