Innsbruck is a rather small city, therefore distances are short and it is easy to get around by foot or bike. Nevertheless, we do have a well functioning Public Transport Network.

Single tickets for buses and trams in the city cost around EUR 3.00 and they are valid for:

  • 45 minutes after validation in a slot machine on the bus if you buy it at the ticket machines at the bus stops
  • 90 minutes if you buy it via the IVB Tickets app (Google Play StoreApple App Store)

Please note that single tickets for city buses and trams are no longer sold by the drivers themselves but have to be purchased before getting in.

If you plan to use the city’s public transport frequently, you can get a weekly ticket or the so-called 8-Fahrtenticket, which is valid for 8 rides. You can find an overview of all available tickets on the IVB website (“Innsbrucker Verkehrsbetriebe”). You can buy these tickets online or at the IVB Customer Centre.

If you are planning to use a bike, the IVB also offers city bikes: IVB Stadtrad

Have a look at the Tourist Information Website and discover a range of activities that fits everyone's tastes - from city activities to mountain activities and beyond.
