Innsbruck Physics Lecture 2025
with Prof. Sir David Clary FRS
11.11.25 - 16:30
HS A, VFH-Haus, Technikerstr. 25, Campus Technik
Everyone is welcome!
This year, we celebrate the UNESCO International Year of Quantum Science and Technology with a special edition of the Innsbruck Physics Lecture, featuring Prof. Sir David Clary FRS from the University of Oxford.
Following the talk, attendees are invited to a reception.
Schrödinger, Austria and Innsbruck
1925 marks the centenary of quantum mechanics. During Christmas of that year, Schrödinger made the great discovery of his equation and wave mechanics. Although he held appointments in ten cities across six countries, Schrödinger always longed to return to his homeland, Austria, and he had a special link with Innsbruck. Drawing on fresh insights from his recent biography, Schrödinger in Oxford, David Clary will explore these fascinating features in the life of this remarkable theoretical physicist.

Past Lectures
The Innsbruck Physics Lecture has welcomed many distinguished researchers to Innsbruck, among them several Nobel laureates, offering insights into current discoveries and central questions in modern physics. The archive reflects the wide range of topics covered by the series.
