The Inter-American Studies elective package is interdisciplinary in nature and offers students the opportunity to explore the Anglophone and Romance languages speaking regions, their literatures, cultures and media in the Americas, i.e. North, Central and South America as well as the Caribbean. Students will examine specific cultural areas such as the USA, Canada, Mexico and Argentina, while also gaining insight into key aspects of transnational and transcultural interconnections and exchange processes between the Americas – a region that is central in a global context and stands out for its linguistic and cultural diversity.
