Proof of general university entrance qualification:
With the exception of § 64 par. 5 UG 2002, the general university entrance qualification for admission to a doctoral programme shall be demonstrated by the completion of a relevant diploma programme or master's programme or another relevant programme of at least the same level of higher education at a recognised domestic or foreign post-secondary educational institution. To compensate for substantial subject-related differences, supplementary examinations may be prescribed, which must be taken by the end of the second semester of the doctoral degree programme.
For admission to the LFUI, an additional qualitative admission requirement is a dissertation concept that has been deemed suitable for the subject and supervisable by a committee to be formed by the Dean of Studies in analogous application of § 21 of the Study Law Provisions.

| CM 1: Economics, 18 ECTS-Credits | In the PhD Program in Economics and Statistics (doctoral program), a Dissertation must be written. The Dissertation is an academic paper that serves as proof of the ability to independently tackle academic issues. The Dissertation can be written in one of the following areas: Economics (includes Finance as topic of the Dissertation) or Statistics. Interdisciplinary Dissertations are permitted. In this case, when forming the supervisory team in accordance with para. 5, care must be taken to ensure that its members cover the various subject areas of the Dissertation project. The Dissertation may be written as a monograph or consist of articles that are related in terms of content or methodology. In this case, the Dissertation must consist of at least three articles. At least two of the articles must have been accepted for presentation at a recognized international conference with peer review; this requirement may be waived if at least one article has been published or accepted for publication in an internationally recognized journal with peer review. The articles must be preceded by an introduction explaining the content or methodological context. If the scientific articles were written by several authors, the doctoral candidate's own contribution must also be explained in the introduction. In addition to assessing the content of the scientific articles, the reviewers must also check compliance with the above requirements for a Dissertation consisting of several scientific articles and note this in their reviews. | ||

Examination regulations
The examination regulation is an integral part of the curriculum, detailed information can be found under the paragraph examination regulations.
