Peers and Beers – interfaculty PhD get-together

The interfaculty PhD get-together is aimed at all PhD students from the institutes, research centres and research groups affiliated with the EPoS Research Area. The meeting is intended to promote the exchange of ideas on the progress of individual PhD projects in a relaxed atmosphere, as well as to discuss the ups and downs of life as a researcher.
The underlying idea is to capitalise on the synergies arising from the interfaculty nature of the Research Area through cross-disciplinary exchange. By highlighting overlaps and connections, a broader basis for discussion is created.
The first part of the get-together is intended to facilitate an exchange of information on deadlines, funding opportunities and organisational strategies. This will help to minimise bureaucratic hurdles. Experts will provide information on the various aspects of academic research.
In the second part, PhD students will share their own experiences on the individual topics, thereby offering an insight into academic practice. In a small group setting, we aim to work constructively and clear up any uncertainties.
After the informative part, we will continue the discussion over a relaxed get-together. The first round of drinks will be on the Research Area.
