From 21st to 24th of September 2022, the 15th Melammu Symposium of the Melammu Project took place in Graz with Innsbruck's participation. In addition to Univ.-Prof. Dr. Roland Steinacher, Clemens Steinwender, MA from the Doktoratskolleg "Entangled Antiquities" also presented his talk there. His lecture dealt with the Caucasus Mountains and their role as a bulwark against the Alans for the Sasanids. It also dealt with prevailing contacts, such as trade or finds at the Samtavro burial ground south of the Caucasus. Thus, the topic concerned his dissertation which he is writing as part of the Doktoratskolleg.
