Current research were presented in over 25 panels covering disability and employment, education, social and health care, culture, media, civil society, history and politics. In addition, six interactive workshops and five joint sessions invited participants to engage with current issues in disability rights and research. All keynotes and some individual sessions were translated into International Sign Language.
More than 15 students from the MA Education programmes, MA Gender Studies programme, the Horizon Europe project RESPONSIVE and the bidok project were on hand to provide assistance to the global audience and colleagues with disabilities.
The conference raised the international recognition and visibility of the Disability Studies teaching and research unit at the University of Innsbruck. Selected conference findings and results presented will be published in the coming period, partly in the ALTER Journal and partly in the Journal forDisability Studies / ZDS.
The conference took place in the Ágnes Heller Building and was organised by Prof. Lisa Pfahl, Dr. Michael Rasell and Auélie Auzas, BA, on behalf of the European Association for Disability Research (ALTER).
