After Graduation

Alumni Survey Ecology & Biodiversity 2020 at a glance

  • The graduates usually come from the Bachelor's programme  in Biology at the LFU Innsbruck. During their bachelor, they get excited about Ecology. Only very few of them decided on Ecology & Biodiversity as their major already at the beginning of their studies.

  • Without exception, the decision to enrol in Ecology is perceived as a positive experience. Among other things, also due to the very positive relationship with the teachers in Ecology

  • About 80% of the graduates found a job within the first six months after graduation. 2/3 of these graduates have since been employed in a professional field with a clear connection to ecology

  • In retrospect, the diversity of the study programme is seen very positively. The majority of graduates would recommend the study of Ecology & Biodiversity to their peers

  • Practice-oriented courses and computer/software skills are mentioned as particularly helpful and/or desirable for starting a career
