Aktuelle Forschung

 

Meine Forschungsarbeit konzentriert sich auf die Auswirkung von Umweltstress auf die Regulierung von Stress-induzierten Genen, den Metabolismus bzw. die Immunantwort. Dabei dient hauptsächlich der Regenwurm als Modellorganismus, der eine wichtige Rolle im Ökosystem einnimmt. Die Mechanismen der Stressantwort werden auf molekularer und zellulärer Ebene erforscht um genauerer Einblicke zu bekommen wie sich Organismen in einer sich schnell verändernden Umwelt anpassen können.

Derzeitige Projekte fokussieren auf

 

  • Stress-induzierte epigenetische Veränderungen
  • Die Regulation von Metallothioneinen, einer sehr wichtigen Familie von Stressproteinen
