TIPP: Higly qualified researchers moving to Austria can apply for tax benefits (Zuzugsbegünstigung or Zuzugsfreibetrag). The application for obtaining such tax benefits must be filed with the Austrian Ministry of Finance within 6 months of the date of the move to Austria!
RECOGNITION OF DIPLOMAS AND CERTIFICATES
In Innsbruck there is a branch of the AST (Contact Point for Persons with Foreign Qualifications) at the office of ZeMiT (= Centre for Migrants in Tyrol). They offer free multilingual recognition advice for persons with qualifications acquired in other countries. Contact person and project coordinator for Tyrol and Vorarlberg is Mirjana Stojakovič (ast.tirol@zemit.at).
