European Depression Association (EDA)

Since April 2020 Dr. Alexander Karabatsiakis is the national representative of Austria at the European Depression Association (EDA). The EDA aims improving social awareness to prevent stigmatization and social isolation of individuals suffering from depression.  Additionally, facts and expert knowledge are shared with the community to communicate recent developments in the field of Depression research.

06.10.2022: Last Sunday (02.10.2022) the 19th European Depression Day took place online including a press conference.
The thematic focus of EDD2022 was: Mental health in times of pandemic: risk and resilience factors in mental stress. For this purpose, an online press conference was held again this year, where different guests were asked about their experiences during and after the lock-down phase of the still ongoing pandemic and their coping strategies.
