because the Senate is one of the three governing bodies of our university
because the Senate has a say in the election of the Rector and Vice-Rectors
because the Senate appoints representatives to the University Council, committees (including the AKG), commissions and working groups, and
because the Senate helps shape the future of the university (e.g. by being involved in drawing up and amending the development and organisational plan and the performance agreement) and
because we in the general staff also have an understanding of and an opinion on the design of curricula.
