Welcome to the Faculty of Language, Literature and Culture!
The Faculty comprises a wide spectrum of disciplines from American Studies to Translation Studies. It is one of the biggest faculties at the University of Innsbruck.
Our core competences come from two closely related fields of study:
- the individual languages, literatures, media and cultures in the fields of English and American Studies, German Philology, Latin and Greek Studies, Roman Studies and Slavonic Studies
- their basics, contacts and interactions: Linguistics, Translation Studies, and Comparative Literature.
A substantial part of the Faculty of Language, Literature and Culture is communication and interaction:
- between basics and applied science (e.g. the relation between the field and teacher training)
- between the University and the public (e.g. in country-specific research centres and the research institute Brenner-Archiv as well as the Literaturhaus am Inn)
- between regional anchoring and integration in the internationale scientific community.

Forschungstag des Instituts für Slawistik
Der Forschungstag des Instituts für Slawistik bot einen umfassenden Einblick in die laufenden und abgeschlossenen Projekte der Institutsmitglieder. Die Beiträge zeigten die thematische Vielfalt sowie methodische Bandbreite der slawistischen Forschung und förderten den interdisziplinären Austausch.
Uni Innsbruck stärkt Partnerschaft mit Ukraine
In einer Zeit, in der Europas Werte auf dem Prüfstand stehen, setzt Tirol ein klares Zeichen für Solidarität, regionale Verantwortung und partnerschaftlichen Wiederaufbau. Durch einen Besuch wird die Kooperation mit der Nationalen Universität Užhorod wird vertief.
Leseperformance – Creative Writing Project
34 im Tiroler Volkskunstmuseum ausgestellte Alltagsexponate standen im Mittelpunkt eines kreativen Schreibprojekts, das Studierende und Teilnehmer*innen des Writing Clubs zu ihren Texten inspirierte. Diese wurden am 7. November im Volkskunstmuseum präsentiert.
Herbstfestakt des Vizerektorats für Forschung
Zweimal jährlich würdigt das Vizerektorat für Forschung die Innsbrucker Doktoratsstipendiat:innen sowie weitere Preisträger:innen im Rahmen einer gemeinsamen Feierlichkeit. Die jungen Forschenden stellten im Rahmen des Herbstfestakts ihre Projekte vor.
