Christoph Spötl studies natural climate change over long time scales. The Innsbruck Quaternary Research Group, which he founded around 20 years ago, focuses primarily on caves and their deposits (including stalactites). Christoph Spötl and his colleagues use these sediments to conduct research on regional climate and environmental history worldwide.
