Atharva Vaidya is currently a PhD student at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He joined the Interactive Graphics and Simulation Group (IGS) in 2026. After completing his Master's degree in Robotic Systems Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, he worked at Carl Zeiss AG as a Computer Vision Engineer focusing on synthetic data for medical applications. In his PhD, he will focus on surgical scene understanding and simulation.

He likes to travel, bike and play badminton in his free time.
