Talk of Guest Prof. Kazuya Sase on Nov 27
On November 27th our visiting Prof. Kazuya Sase gave a talk at the deaprtments lunchtime seminar.
Title: "Haptic Rendering of Soft Objects: From Surgical Simulation to Education and Beyond"
Abstract:
In this talk, I will introduce three of my major projects. First, I will present our haptic rendering method for deformable objects, developed for neurosurgical training simulators. Second, I will show our outreach activities in the Virtual Reality Laboratory I lead, including a project that uses haptic feedback to support science education for young children. Finally, I will explain our gamification-based tsunami disaster-prevention education project, which we developed based on our experience during the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake.
