Guide: Microblogging with Mastodon
Mastodon is a social network that allows you to share short text messages – much like the former Twitter (now ‘X’). Mastodon has the advantage over X in that it is privacy-friendly and decentralised, meaning it is not owned by any single company.
For staff and students at the University of Innsbruck, using Mastodon is incredibly simple, as they can log in via our single sign-on system using their usual C-ID and password. This guide will help you with registration, usage and frequently asked questions. You are also welcome to contact fediverse@uibk.ac.at directly with any questions.
