Quantum Interfaces Group
The Quantum Interfaces group is led by Prof. Tracy Northup at the University of Innsbruck's Institute for Experimental Physics. In our labs, we investigate how to transfer quantum states between light and matter, based on the interactions between single atoms, photons, and phonons. These fundamental physics experiments have applications for emerging quantum technologies, and in particular, for future quantum networks.

Nanoparticle Stored with an Atomic Ion in a Linear Paul Trap
We are thrilled to share that our research on co-trapping a nanoparticle and an atomic ion, two fundamentally distinct objects, in the same Paul trap has been published in Physical Review Letters.
