Das sasanidische Ägypten – ein Schauplatz im letzten großen Krieg der Antike und dessen papyrologische Evidenz

Clemens Steinwender was invited by the Department for Papyrology (Prof. Reinard) of the Faculty III of the University of Trier (GER) to give a guest lecture on July 12, 2023. He spoke about Sasanian Egypt which was conquered and held by the Persians from 619 to 629 AD. The administration of this newly conquered territory, the papyrological evidence and the potential of the Pahlavi papyri in Vienna were discussed.
