Labels as indicators of quality

In the 2013 academic year, the European Commission offered higher education institutions within the European Higher Education Area the opportunity to obtain an ECTS and/or Diploma Supplement label for excellence in the recognition of learning outcomes and transparency. In Austria, the University of Innsbruck – as the only comprehensive university – holds both the ECTS and Diploma Supplement labels.

The award of an ECTS or DS label signals to students, partners and other institutions the correct application of ECTS and/or the Diploma Supplement, fair academic recognition and improved transparency in an international context.
