The Bologna Process
The Bologna Process is the instrument for establishing a European Higher Education Area. From an Austrian perspective, this process drives forward the Europeanisation and internationalisation of the tertiary education sector and strengthens competitiveness. The current implementation phase is giving new impetus to the internationalisation efforts of the Austrian higher education system. (Source: BMWFW)
The fundamental reform process was launched with the signing of the Bologna Declaration in May 1999 by government representatives from 29 European countries.
