Lecture 3a “Measurement technics and strategies in mountain environments”

"You can’t conquer a mountain, though it may conquer you." (Jimmy Chin)
Measurement technics and strategies in mountain environments
Preamble:
Working in mountain environments require sophisticated measuring techniques and strategies. We offer the students demonstrations of high altitude measuring sites (partly serving as LTER sites) and the respective introduction of measurement techniques for aquatic, terrestrial and atmospheric applications.
Benefits from lecture:
- Overview and introduction to field sites at UIBK
- Overview over aquatic, terrestrial and atmospheric measurement techniques
- Introduction into practical and modeling techniques
Special features of lecture:
- Cross-cutting over all spheres, from micro to macro scale.
Main lecturers:
- Birgit Sattler
- Michael Traugott
- Georg Wohlfahrt
- Bernhard Gems
- Christian Lamprecht
