Co-Registration
If students of the University of Innsbruck wish to attend courses and/or take course examinations at another Austrian university that are not offered at our university, an application for co-enrolment must be submitted to the university concerned.
Co-registration requires proof that you have already registered for the continuation of your studies in the semester in question and that you have paid the tuition fees. In addition, a confirmation from the dean of studies responsible for the programme that it is not possible to take the desired examination at the University of Innsbruck is required in advance (not applicable for co-enrolment at the Medical University of Innsbruck).
Information on the exact procedure can be found on the homepage of the respective university whose courses you would like to take.
The first co-assignment on the MUI is carried out in 2 steps:
Step 1: First carry out the Student pre-registration electronically.
Step 2: After completing Student pre-registration, bring a current study sheet and your student ID to the MUI Admissions Department ( Student Services).
Once the documents have been checked, you will be accepted as a co-registered student at the Medical University of Innsbruck and will receive user data for activating your account in i-med.inside. You will then be able to print out the MUI's study sheet and confirmation of enrolment.
The co-enrolment at the Medical University of Innsbruck must be re-registered for each semester within the admission period! The online continuation is done by an informal declaration of the continuation of the co-enrolment status plus study sheet (attachment). For reasons of data security and validity, this must be sent to zulassung-medizin@i-med.ac.at via the official MUI student e-mail address (x.y.@student.i-med.ac.at).
Please enquire at your home university regarding authorisation to take courses at another university. The responsible study law body at your home university can provide you with information on the recognition of examinations that you have completed at the University of Innsbruck.
You can then submit an application for co-enrolment to the Admission Department of the University of Innsbruck.
Required documents:
- Student ID card
- Current study record (note: "registered")
- Confirmation or notification of authorisation for co-enrolment => see application for co-occupancy
Due to the termination of admission to courses in a semester, the above confirmations must be requested each semester during Admission deadline.
For the first co-registration at the University of Innsbruck, please come to the Admission Department during Admission deadline and bring a current study record and your student ID with you.
After your documents have been checked, you will be accepted as a co-registered student at the University of Innsbruck and will receive the user data for activating your account in LFU:online. You will then be able to print out your study record and confirmation of enrolment.
You can register for courses via LFU:online in accordance with the respective admission requirements and any participation restrictions.
Co-enrolment must be continued each semester within Admission deadline. All you need to do is send an informal letter from your student e-mail address (x.y@student.uibk.ac.at or x.y@student.i-med.ac.at) to Admission Department with the subject "Continuation of co-enrolment".
The staff at Admission Department will be happy to provide you with further information.
