15th Workshop on Management Accounting as Social and Organizational Practice (MASOP)

The 15th MASOP was hosted by the University of Innsbruck from 30 May to 31 May 2023. We welcomed participants from several European universities as well as one Australian university to discuss the social and organizational antecedents and effects of management accounting practice.

After a short introduction and welcome by this year’s host Martin Messner, seven papers on various topics such as “Translating strategy using a balanced scorecard” and “Relational accounting in operational decision-making” were presented and discussed. The first workshop day ended with a joint dinner at the restaurant Brahms. This was followed by another six presentations on the second day. Like in previous years, the multitude of constructive feedback that was given by other participants on the respective paper presentations made this year's MASOP workshop again a fruitful environment to foster new research ideas.

We would like to thank all visitors for the many interesting conversations that we had and are looking forward to the next MASOP workshop in Paris in 2025.
