 Day Nursery Luftabon

As of fall 2020, a second day nursery group was established in the bilingual "Luftabon" nursery at Blasius-Hueber-Strasse 12 (on the banks of the Inn River next to the Studia/Mensa). Through a cooperation between the University of Innsbruck and the parents' association that runs the nursery, ten places - morning and afternoon as well as full-day places - could be reserved for children of LFUI employees.

The nursery, which has been offering high-quality childcare at this location for over 30 years with the support of the ÖH, was recently completely renovated. In the process, the premises were redesigned in a modern and toddler-friendly manner. The care is provided according to needs-oriented professional pedagogical guidelines and is offered by qualified specialist staff. The extension of the garden has created a small green oasis in the middle of the city, where children can play and romp in all weathers.

Children’s Age

The childcare offer is aimed at children from the age of 12 months until the end of their third year. The cut-off date is August 31 respectively September 1.

Opening Hours

The nursery is open continuously from Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm.

The facility is open all year round, i.e. also during the Christmas, semester and Easter vacations. There are only five closing days in addition to public holidays.

The nursery year begins at the beginning of September and ends at the end of August.

Fees

For employees of the LFUI the following fees apply for the nursery year 2023/2024:

Full day place: 460 Euro, incl. two snacks and lunch

Morning place (7:30-14:00): 380 Euro, incl. snack and lunch

Afternoon place (14:00-18:30): 210 Euro, including snack

In addition, an annual membership fee (for cleaning, handicraft materials, etc.) of 150 Euros must be paid.

Attention: An application does not automatically guarantee admission!
Applications for the nursery year 2024/25 will be accepted until 17 December.

If the number of registrations exceeds the available capacity, a committee decides on the ranking. In the last resort, the pedagogical management decides on the allocation of places.

The following selection criteria will be used to allocate places:

- Employment level of the applicant and possibly of their partner

- Single parent

- Desired start of care

- Alternative care options at the place of residence

- Other reasons worthy of consideration (e.g. both parents employed at the university; siblings; applicants who do not have a network available locally, e.g. if they are newly relocated to Tyrol; need to return to work)
