Data Stewards

Starting in 2026, the Service Point for Research Data Management is supported by Data Stewards at four faculties, who expand the range of services to include discipline-specific research data management (RDM) consulting. The Data Stewards are organisationally based within the Digital Research Services Department (Central IT Services) and work on site at their respective faculties, collaborating closely with researchers.

The Data Stewards’ responsibilities include:

  • Consulting during the application phase
  • Consulting on research data management (e.g. metadata, data storage, research data repositories, rights and licences)
  • Consulting on and review of Data management plans
  • Delivering training on research data management
  • Liaising with the various research support services at the university
