Textilforschung in Vorarlberg

Die Universität Innsbruck betreibt in Dornbirn das Forschungsinstitut für Textilchemie und Textilphysik. Zwanzig Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler forschen an Fasern und Geweben, an Grenzflächen, an Materialien aus nachhaltigen Quellen. Die Anwendungen gehen über die Bekleidungsbranche hinaus, sie betreffen wiederaufladbaren Batterien, Verbundmaterialien und sogar Lebensmittel. Das Institut befindet sich nicht zufällig in Vorarlberg. Das Bundesland hat eine lange Textiltradition, in der das Wissen und die Erfahrung von Menschen aus der ganzen Welt verwoben sind. - Ein Institutsbesuch.

New Doctoral Program on Redox Flow Batteries: The SPACER project, funded by the EU’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, is a new doctoral training network focused on advancing redox flow battery technology. The initiative will train 17 Ph.D. students across 10 countries, including one at the Research Institute for Textile Chemistry and Textile Physics of the University of Innsbruck. Coordinated by the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology (ICT), the project brings together 13 core institutions and 8 associated partners to drive innovation in sustainable energy storage.
