LEADER Project „Network Coordination at the Campus Landeck“
In order to expand the networking activities of the Campus Landeck, a new position was created in November 2022 to facilitate and increase networking between stakeholders in the region and the university. The coordinator formed a central interface with businesses in the region and with regioL, the regional management office in Landeck.
The coordinator performed the following main tasks:
Research & Know-How Transfer:
- Matching experts from the scientific community to support stakeholders from the region in sustainable tourism initiatives
- Coordinating scientific staff from the University of Innsburck to provide research-based assistance in project and product development in the individual destinations (in individual cases also companies)
- Mediation of stakeholdersfrom the region to strengthen the regional relevance of theses (seminar papers, master's theses)
Networking:
- Point of contact for destinations to the university for questions of scientific interest (and vice versa)
- Point of contact/interface with regioL for questions of regional development (regular coordination)
Administration:
- Documentation of the accounting requirements of the funded LEADER project
The LEADER project "Network Coordination at the Campus Landeck" was launched in November 2022 with the employment of the network coordinator Claudia Rauch.
From November 2022 to December 2024, 22 projects were implemented in practice. The majority of these were carried out within courses in the form of seminar papers and theses. Four research projects were handled directly by the teaching staff at the location. Together with the descriptions of the work over the course of two years, this demonstrated the successful implementation of the project.
Network coordination helped reverse the steady decline in student numbers since COVID-19. In the 2022/23 winter semester, only 19 bachelors's and 13 master's students began their studies, while in the 2024/25 winter semester, 31 bachelor's and 21 master's students started.
Claudia Rauch also succeeded in establishing a large network of partners from the region. This significantly increased the location's visibility and anchoring in the region.
The Campus Landeck intends to build on all these successes in the future. The LEADER project "Network Coordination at the Campus Landeck" was a first step towards networking and increasing visibility in the region and laid the foundation for the application for a LIN project, which was submitted in autumn 2024.
