Katrin Schefbänker, MA

Katrin Schefbänker is a PhD student and research assistant at the Institute for Management and Marketing at the University of Innsbruck. Her research focuses on emotions in consumer behaviour, in particular emotional contagion and emotions expressed through the voice and face in human and AI-driven service interactions. Another focus is on AI-supported emotion analysis.
She studied economics at the University of Innsbruck, completing a semester abroad at theUniversity of the Balearic Islands in Spain during her studies. She then enrolled in a part-time master's programme in sports, culture and event management at the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences, which she successfully completed from 2020 to 2022. Parallel to her studies, she gained extensive practical experience in various fields of activity. After completing her master's degree, she worked as an event and marketing manager for the areas of sports, nature and health at the Kufsteinerland Tourism Association until she decided to return to the University of Innsbruck in November 2023 to pursue a PhD in management.
