As part of the excursion, various Tyrolean companies that use microorganisms for prodruction purposes were visited. In the SE belonging to the same module, the content was deepened and elaborated with the aim of creating a podcast. It was up to the students to decide what content they wanted to present and how much into detail they wanted to go. The impressive results can be found here.

In the lab course "Physiology of Anaerobic Microorganisms" we cultivated different anaerobic pure and mixed cultures as well as two methanogenic pure cultures, Methanococcus vannielii and Methanosarcina acetivorans. In various anlyses the growth behaviour of pure cultures and the dynamics of mixed cultures could be figured out.
