We are looking for a PhD candi­date in the field of Inter­na­tional Rela­tions, special­ising in Russian foreign policy or rela­tions between major powers.

On 8 Septem­ber, the Federal Ministry for Women, Science and Research awarded the Ars Docendi State Prize for outstanding teachers – and Asso­ciate Professor Lore Hayek from our depart­ment is one of the prize winners. She was recog­nised for her Master’s seminar ‘Polit­ical Commu­ni­ca­tion’: Poli­tics-TikTok Atlas Austria in the cate­gory of research-based or arts-led teach­ing.

We congrat­u­late Fabian Haber­sack on receiving an ERC Starting Grant! The ERC Starting Grant is a gener­ously funded Euro­pean grant for early-career researchers. Fabian Haber­sack is one of three researchers at the Univer­sity of Inns­bruck to receive this grant.

Nur wenige Wochen vor seinem 80. Geburtstag ist Jörg Becke­r in Solingen verstor­ben. Der in Biele­feld gebo­rene Becker, Privat­do­zent an der Tech­ni­schen Hoch­schule Darm­stadt und Hono­rar­pro­fessor an der Univer­sität Mar­burg, war von 1999 bis 2011 Gast­pro­fessor am Institut für Poli­tik­wis­sen­schaft an der Univer­sität Inns­bruck.

Hermann Atz, Meinungs­for­scher und Statis­ti­ker, ist am 29. August bei einer Klet­ter­tour tödlich abge­stürzt. Atz hat am Institut für Poli­tik­wis­sen­schaft in der Lehre im Fach Statistik immer wieder ausge­hol­fen, war kompe­tent, zuver­lässig und bei den Studie­renden sehr beliebt. Unter­richtet hat er auch an der Freien Univer­sität Bozen.
