Flavia Laffleur studied pharmacy at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen/Germany. Following her studies, she completed her practical year and passed the 3rd state examination in Bavaria. After receiving her license to practice as a pharmacist, she started her doctorate at the Leopold-Franzens-University in Innsbruck in the field of pharmaceutical technology. Her doctoral thesis is entitled: Potent(ial) polymeric excipients for mucosal delivery.
Flavia Laffleur has a large number of research stays abroad. She gained post-doctoral experience at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston/USA, among others. After her return from MIT, she took up a career position with a qualification agreement. She was the first female assistant professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology.
Her habilitation was dedicated to the topic: From adhesion to adherence, of which she was awarded the venia docendi for the subject “Pharmaceutical Technology”. After successfully completing the qualification agreement, Flavia Laffleur is now an associate professor at the Institute of Pharmacy with an h-index of 30. Flavia Laffleur has published over 130 peer-reviewed publications (original articles and reviews). She has given numerous presentations at international congresses and has received many scientific awards, including the Prize of the Principality of Liechtenstein for Scientific Research.
